A little further vibrant Newcastle and the Metro Centre, one of Europe's largest shopping experiences. To the west, Brampton is home to a Pre-Raphaelite church and many antique shops. The Border City of Carlisle has a fine cathedral, a castle and the Lanes shopping area.
