Lavender Cottage, situated at the rear of the main house, presents its own entrance, private patio, and captivating views over the harbour. Twin beds, an en suite bathroom with underfloor heating, a lounge area, and a TV complete the offerings. Just next door, Rose Cottage welcomes you with a double bed and the same excellent facilities.

Port Askaig Hotel offers charming accommodation on the shores of the Sound of Islay. Our family-run highland inn enjoys glorious views over the pier. We offer great access to Jura, Colonsay and the mainland, with a car ferry nearby, making us a great base for exploring Argyll.

We have a range of bedrooms available, including 5 superior twin sea views, 1 deluxe king/twin, 1 standard double, 3 standard double/twins, 2 standard twins and 1 single. Ground floor rooms are available for people with limited mobility. We also have an annexe that comes with 2 first-floor en suites that enjoys harbour views. Both rooms share a small TV lounge.

All the rooms include a hairdryer, towels, hospitality tray, extra blankets, shampoo and soap.

Breakfast is available in our Starboard Bistro. We can provide a packed breakfast for guests leaving for the ferry at 7 am.

On the first floor is a resident’s lounge to relax in whilst enjoying the views.

The Starboard Bistro offers breakfast, lunch and dinner for non-residents. Options on offer include a beef burger, homemade steak pie and roasted chicken balmoral, plus much more.

We are an ideal base from which to explore the varied delights of Islay including sea or loch fishing, cycling, walking, swimming from fabulous beaches, the Malt Whisky Trail, ancient history or The Clans and Lords of the Isles, or simply enjoying the fabulous scenery - Islay has it all. We are also in a convenient location for distillery and/or sightseeing tours with a local driver around Islay.

The Lantana holds the unique position, front facing the Georgian Esplanade with its fine sandy beach and background of rolling hills. The back of the Guesthouse overlooks the harbour and Nothe Fort.

Accommodation is offered on a B&B basis. Freshly cooked breakfast is served in the dining room with separate dining tables. All of the guest rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished. Facilities include: En suites, hot beverage trays with tea and coffee, towels, Freeview TV, & free Wi-Fi. Each room also has a beach or harbour view. There are single, double and twin rooms available. Families are also very welcome, there is family suite available that can sleep 3/4.

You are welcome to relax in the TV lounge or use the glorious sun terrace, overlooking the harbour.
