The boutique-style rooms are furnished to a high standard but they take a 'no frills' approach to the general facilities, enabling them to keep the room rates lower whilst still offering quality accommodation. They are rated a 3 Star Room Only Accommodation by Visit Britain.
As well as being a gateway to outdoor adventures, there is lots to do in Ambleside. They have a cinema showing all the latest releases, plus art house films. There are lots of quality cafes, restaurants and bars, some with live music such as The Gilded Lily next door who feature local bands and regular Open Mic Nights and there is jazz most weekends at Zeffirellis. They have 2 parks including lake views and a children's play area. There are regular boats travelling from Waterhead to Bowness and Lakeside, plus boats and kayaks are available for hire. You'll find tennis, pitch and putt and crazy golf at White Platts Recreation Ground. Guided walks and bike rides can be arranged locally, and bike hire is available.
