The
hotel has been part of the community since 1770 and much of the building is
original including the front door.
The
area itself is located directly on the gateway to the Lake District and you
can’t find a hotel in the Penrith area providing such personal service and
being so perfectly positioned to access the tourist attractions of the Lake
District such as Brougham Hall, Lowther Castle, Lake Ullswater and Pooley
Bridge.
Our
soon to be refurbished accommodation is the ideal place to lay your head after
a hard day's hiking around the fascinating landscapes of the surrounding area,
a relaxing day soaking up the history, or simply sitting back with a pint of
local brew or a good bottle of red in front of our coal fire.
