Spring has arrived in the UK and the weather has started to warm up. It’s time to get excited for the summer ahead and take a look at what exciting events are coming up. Why go abroad when you can plan the perfect staycation to suit you and your requirements? 


There’s so much to see and do, here is a mixture of exciting events coming up this summer.

1) Isle of Wight Festival. Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the Isle of Wight Festival is on the 21st June – 24th June 2018. Expect some of the biggest acts in the world that include Rita Ora, The Script and Chase and Status.
2) Bristol Harbour Festival. Celebrate all things maritime, from mermaid dances to pirate treasure hunts and test out your sea legs on historic vessels the Bristol Harbour Festival. Dates for this festival are the 20th – 22nd July 2018.
3) British Speedway Grand Prix. The Principality Stadium plays host to the British Speedway Grandprix and promises fast and furious family fun. See the best speedway riders in the world go full throttle on their 500cc bikes with no brakes or gears, travelling at speeds over 120kph on their quest for vital championship points. This event is on the 21st July 2018.
4) Royal Welsh Show. The Royal Welsh Show is one of the most prestigious events of its type in Europe, bringing together the farming industry and rural community in a celebration of the best of British Agriculture with a unique and very special ‘Welsh' flavour. This event is on the 23rd – 26th July 2018.
5) Scottish Traditional Boat Festival. This festival is a colourful celebration of Scotland's great maritime heritage in picturesque Portsoy, Aberdeenshire. This event is the 30th June – 1st July 2018.
6) Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the single biggest celebration of arts and culture on the planet. Every August for three weeks the city of Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital, welcomes an explosion of creative energy from around the globe. This event is 3rd – 27th August 2018.
7) SeaFest 2018. SeaFest is a fun, free summer festival for all ages and the programme of events includes a seafood fair, seafood cookery demonstrations with celebrity chefs and seafaring family fun. This event is the 29th June – 1st July 2018.
8) Lights Fest Dublin 2018. This is an experience where thousands of friends and families gather to listen to live music, fill up on great food and light up life by sharing personal wishes, dreams and goals. This event is on Saturday the 18th August 2018.
9) Foyle Maritime Festival. The quayside becomes engrossed in Maritime Magic as the city hosts the Foyle Maritime Festival. Playing host to a fantastic collection of live music, markets, entertainment and river based activities. This event is on the 14th – 22nd July 2018.
10) Heart of the Glens Festival. The 28th Heart of the Glens Festival is a family fun community festival for all ages. There are a wide range of workshops, shows and events. This event is on the 4th – 12th August 2018.

The drive has mature lime trees, ancient hedges and in the spring abounds with daffodils, which are then followed by cowslips and bluebells and other wild flowers. About an acre of our land is devoted to lawns and garden including Wellingtonias, Robinia and other mature trees.
