Callisham Farm offers fantastic accommodation in the pretty valley of Meavy, in Dartmoor National Park. This traditional farm offers peace and tranquillity amongst pretty woodland and babbling brooks in a gorgeous area of Devon.

We have a variety of beautifully furnished rooms available. Both rooms are south-facing and boast glorious views of open fields and Callisham Tor. All the rooms come with en suite facilities, tea/coffee trays, television and views of the fields. The family room sleeps 4.

The guests’ lounge has a flagstone floor and an inglenook fireplace cradling a large wood-burning stove, making any stay warm and homely.

You can enjoy a real English breakfast made from tasty and wholesome local produce. Vegetarian and special diets are catered for on request.

The family-run hill farm is surrounded by excellent walking country. It is also an ideal centre for riding, fishing, golfing, cycling and touring the beautiful coasts of Devon and Cornwall. The historic port of Plymouth is 12 miles away to the south and the ancient stannary town of Tavistock is 7 miles to the north.

Plymouth has good transport links, with an airport, mainline railway station, connection to the motorway via the A38 and M5, plus ferry links to France and Spain. Meavy village, with its picturesque village green, 12th Century church and the famous 800-year-old Royal Oak Inn, is only half a mile away by road or a short stroll of a quarter-mile across the fields.

The Calcutts House offers superb accommodation in the riverside village of Jackfield near Telford. Our 18th Century former ironmaster house is perfect for a relaxing break in Shropshire.

The guest rooms in the main house are named after previous owners, all of whom were celebrated Ironmasters:-

The Lord Dundonald Room: This lovely room has antique mahogany furnishings including the Great Bed of Jackfield - a large four-poster bed c1800, measuring 7 feet wide, 8 feet long and 9 feet high. This room overlooks the Ironbridge Gorge.

The William Hazeldine Room: This lovely spacious room has Ormolu furnishings with a French restoration bed in the style of Louis XV, around 1850.

The Alexander Brodie Room: This room has antique painted oak furnishings with a delightful country style four-poster bed, c1750, original oak floorboards and overlooks the Ironbridge Gorge.

Thomas Telford Room: Our ground floor room is based in our beautiful coach house conversion and comes with divan beds which can be zipped together to make a king.

William Of Orange: Located in our coach house conversion, this room comes with a gorgeous French bed and hand-painted furniture.

William Reynold: Based on the first floor of our coach conversion, the room comes with sloping ceilings and exposed oak purlins. If you are tall this room may not be suitable.

James Glazebrook: This lovely room is in the coach house and also comes with sloping ceilings and exposed oak purlins. If you are tall this room may not be suitable.

You can savour a wonderful breakfast in our period dining room which comes with an oak floorboard and a large cast iron fireplace. Whilst enjoying a home-cooked breakfast you can admire stunning views over the garden and Ironbridge Gorge.

The Exmoor Suite

Our suite comes with 2 bedrooms. The Blue bedroom has a super-king that can be made as two singles. Original features include historic ornate plasterwork friezes dating from the 16th century. The Gold bedroom is decorated with plasterwork and wall paintings and offers views of Exmoor National Park.

The suite comes with tea and coffee-making facilities, a smart TV, towels, shampoo and hair dryer, an optional folding bed, fridge and toaster. A BBQ package is available.

You also have use of The Great Hall, offering lots of superb features, including an original bread oven and creamery, along with a wooden bench and wood panelling. There is also a toasty log fire.

The Garden Room

We offer accommodation in this double room that comes with a king-size bed and shower room. The room boasts views over the Manor Gardens.

Facilities include room tea and coffee facilities, a smart TV, shampoo and hair dryer, antique writing desk and reclining armchairs.

Whilst staying with us you can visit lots of attractions. Visit the beaches at Saunton Sands, Northam Burrows and Westward Ho!. Enjoy 30 miles of walks through the Tarka Trail or play a round at Libbaton Golf Course.
