Ty Shon Jacob Farm is situated on the top of
a little mountain in the small village of Tranch, close to the town of
Pontypool at the edge of the Brecon Beacons.
Blaenavon World Heritage Site is a few miles up the valley. Cardiff, the capital of Wales, is just half an hour away. There are plenty of places to visit and things to do whilst staying with us here in Monmouthshire.
There is some stunning scenery around these Welsh mountains and valleys. You can bring your own horse and try it for yourself. We have stabling and grazing. Alternatively, ride from the farm next door. They have horses available and offer Parelli Horsemanship courses.
Pontypool was an important market and iron making town in the 18th Century. Coal mining was very important at that time too. The town has the largest Park in Wales which was donated by the Hanbury family the big land owners in the area. One of the busiest Dry Ski Slopes in Wales is situated at the edge of the park.
