Charcott Farmhouse offers wonderful guest house accommodation in Leigh, Tonbridge in Kent. Tucked away in the Weald countryside behind the tiny hamlet of Charcott, the pretty old 17th century tile hung farmhouse is typical of the local Kentish architecture and now, no longer a working farm, forms part of a peaceful homestead well away from any roads and surrounded by open fields.
The 3 twin bedrooms are simply furnished with pretty traditional country fabrics and have either en suite facilities or a private bathroom next door. Each room has ample clothes storage space, fully adjustable central heating, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer and mineral water. One of the 2 en suite rooms is on the ground floor.
Breakfasts are cooked on the kitchen Aga and served communally in the dining room with individual timings to suit. All breakfast choices are adaptable according to preference and are accompanied by fruit juice and tea or filter coffee. Eggs are fresh from Charcott's own flock of free range chickens, and menus vary according to taste. As far as possible all ingredients are organic and locally sourced.
Local attractions at this Bed and Breakfast accommodation include Penshurst Place and the National Trust village of Chiddingstone - both only minutes away with Hever Castle, Chartwell, Knole Park, Squerryes Court and Ightham Mote all under half an hour. Tonbridge and Sevenoaks are 15 minutes drive and Tunbridge Wells with the famous Pantiles 25 minutes. Gatwick Airport is 40 minutes away and for those wishing to visit London, Penshurst Station is a 10 minute walk across the old aerodrome with trains running hourly to London Bridge.
