The Blacksmiths Arms is a stone pub in the conservation village of Lastingham, North Yorkshire. Situated directly opposite the beautiful St Mary’s Church, it offers a warm welcome in a village setting, making it an ideal base for exploring the breathtaking North Yorkshire Moors.
All the guest rooms have recently been renovated to combine modern comfort with characterful charm. Each en-suite room has been thoughtfully designed with guests’ comfort in mind, ensuring a restful night’s sleep followed by a hearty Yorkshire breakfast to start the day. The Grouse room draws inspiration from the surrounding moorlands, featuring a double bed with a bespoke padded headboard and a stylish en-suite shower room.
For those seeking a little more space, the Partridge room offers a spacious super king bed that can also be configured as a twin on request. Its illuminated wooden headboard and herringbone wool walls create a warm, inviting atmosphere. Meanwhile, the Pheasant room boasts a beautifully appointed double with a generous bathroom, complete with a luxurious double-ended bathtub. Each room is stocked with Molton Brown toiletries to add a touch of indulgence to every stay.
Dining at The Blacksmiths Arms is a delight, with food served from 12 noon to 3:30 pm and again from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Monday through Saturday. Sundays see the return of the popular roast, served from 12 pm to 4:30 pm. Guests have the choice of two restaurant areas, a cosy bar for a drink or a meal, and a private dining room that seats up to six people for a more intimate experience.
During the summer months, The Blacksmiths Arms comes alive with live music in the spacious beer garden at the back of the pub. With the pizza oven fired up, it’s the perfect setting to relax and enjoy a drink, some great entertainment and a freshly made, homemade pizza.
There is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and Beck Isle Museum to Dreamery Gardens, Nunnington Hall and Go Ape Dalby. The Blacksmiths Arms offers the perfect base to explore all that this picturesque corner of Yorkshire has to offer.
