The guest accommodation is located on the lower ground floor of the property and is accessed via an internal staircase. It comprises one double room and one twin room, both with en suite bathrooms. Each room is thoughtfully furnished and includes beverage facilities, a television, a hairdryer, an alarm clock/radio, and a range of small home comforts to ensure a pleasant and restful stay.
Guests also have exclusive use of a separate lounge and dining room, which retains original features such as a traditional bread oven. This comfortable space provides a relaxing environment and includes its own television, as well as a variety of literature and information about the local area and nearby attractions.
Plas Y Bwlch is located on a 15-acre smallholding that enjoys panoramic views across the Upper Wye Valley. The farm is home to a small flock of Pedigree Dutch Zwartbles sheep — a rare breed in the UK — as well as Beulah speckled and Devils’ Bridge speckled sheep. A collection of chickens also roam the land, ensuring that guests are served fresh farm eggs as part of their hearty farmhouse breakfast.
The surrounding countryside is well-known for its excellent walking and cycling opportunities. Lon Las Cymru, the Welsh National Cycle Route, passes through the village of Llangurig on its way to Rhayader, while The Severn Way — the longest riverside walk in Britain — also runs nearby. For guests who wish to explore the area, maps and local information are readily available, and packed lunches can be provided on request.
For those arriving by car, the B&B has a spacious, swept driveway offering ample off-road parking. Additional secure and locked storage is also available for bicycles, trailers, and rally cars, making Plas Y Bwlch a convenient choice for enthusiasts and adventurers alike.
