The Fuzzy Duck Armscote is a quintessentially English country pub and boutique bed & breakfast, set in the picturesque Warwickshire hamlet of Armscote, Stratford-upon-Avon. We offer the perfect country retreat and is an ideal base from which to explore Shakespeare’s haunts and the rolling hills and river valleys of the stunning Cotswolds.
Steeped in history, the building once housed the local blacksmith and in the 18th Century became a popular Coaching Inn. It remains Armscote’s only pub and, saved and sensitively refurbished in 2013 by the family behind Baylis & Harding, it retains many distinctive character features, including exposed beams, flagstone floors and magnificent fireplaces. Clever, contemporary touches now lend this remarkable building a luxurious yet comfortable atmosphere, which can’t fail to charm.
Outside, further delights await. We welcome children and four-legged friends and our pub garden is ideal for families to enjoy leisurely lunches, drinks or snacks whilst the beautifully landscaped courtyard garden offers a sophisticated area to drink or dine.
Bedrooms which offer beautiful big beds, Frette linen, towels and bathrobes, along with complimentary socks, slippers and modern fabrics and a clever mix of furnishings to ensure that each room offers its own unique luxury. Dogs are also welcome with their owners.
Each of our four sumptuous and stylish rooms bears the name of a species of duck, some of which can be found on Armscote’s pond and the lakes of Armscote Manor. Choose from our romantic Muscovy room with its king-size bed, or one of our family rooms with an additional loft bed above the bathroom. Each room is beautifully designed with art deco touches, to the highest standard and boasts top of the range technology including a flat-screen, smart TV. Each super-luxe Lefroy Brooks en suite is stocked with the finest Baylis & Harding Skin Spa and Great Hair Products for perfect pampering. You’ll luxuriate in gorgeous Frette linens and artisan woollen bed-throws. You’ll also find two luxury robes and complimentary super-soft socks and slippers to leave you feeling relaxed and indulged.
We believe in supplying quality, fresh, produce and Head Chef Ben Tynan and his team take great pride in working with the best local suppliers to create delicious and diverse dishes for our seasonal menus and daily specials. Our style can be described as ‘Contemporary Cotswold’ and will feature incredible local flavour combinations. Don’t forget to explore our international wine list, featuring truly special wines from the old and new world. These have been specifically sourced and selected from family-run, award-winning estates.
Our warm, welcoming and well-stocked bar is the perfect place to relax and kick back. We offer a range of real ales on tap, Purity Brewery’s Mad Goose and an ever changing guest ale, alongside some delicious bar snacks! Enjoy a house cocktail, a glass of Champagne or our famous Bloody Mary which makes an incredibly piquant addition to a lazy Sunday brunch.
