Brooklands Guest House is a traditional guest house built at the end of the 19th century. This family-run guest house is set in a quiet and tranquil location with fine views over the fells of the Lake District National Park & Windermere Lake.

Our guest house consists of 5 bedrooms, ranging from single to family rooms. 

All guest rooms are en suite and have tea and coffee making facilities. 

Start the day right with our hearty Lakeland breakfast. If you are off for a day's walking, why not take one of Karen’s packed lunches? We are open all year and have private parking off road, alongside the house. We offer free fishing permits for guests for the local waters.

Brooklands is a 10-15 minute stroll to Bowness Village and Lake Windermere. Boats sail regularly from Bowness Pier to Ambleside or Lakeside for the Steam Train and the Freshwater Aquarium. The world of Beatrix Potter and Blackwell, The Arts and Crafts House, are also situated close by

It’s that time of the year where we put on our favourite Halloween costumes and scour the UK for the best Halloween events. From ghost walks, pumpkin carving, murder mysteries and so much more, we are spoilt for choice! Here are The B & B Directory we have picked out 5 of our favourite events.

1. GlasGLOW 27th October – 11th November 2018. 

This Halloween season, take a walk of wonder into a magical world full of light, fantasy and fun. Experience Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens are you’ve never seen them before, transformed by the imaginations behind the country’s biggest sound and light shows and the itison drive-in movies team.

2. Halloween Unfairground. 25th – 31st October 2018. 

This October, the Grand Pier will be opening its doors after dark for the return of the terrifying Halloween event; Halloween Unfairground. With brand new scare zones, rides and bars, the event promises to be bigger and better than ever!

3. Scarefest 6th October – 2nd November 2018. 

This unmissable event at Alton Towers takes place on selected dates when the resort becomes home to Halloween. Open until late, you can enjoy your favourite rides in the dark and for the first time Wicker Man’s flames lighting up the night sky. 

4. Spooktacular 20th + 21st October & 26th – 31st October 2018. 

Feel the atmosphere, enjoy the thrills and celebrate Halloween at Oakwood Theme Park. From scare mazes to family fun, there is something spooktacular for everyone!

5. The Haunted Castle 20th October – 4th November 2018. 

The Haunted Caste comes alive this Halloween/ With wondrous witches, horrible histories and fearsome attractions, experience Warwick Castle’s biggest ever Haunted Castle this Halloween.
