Waters Edge Cottage is a charming bed and breakfast located close to the western shore of Loch Lomond. For those who are looking to relax and unwind, this is an ideal location. Step into the dining room for a relaxed start to your day. Join other guests and enjoy the finest breakfast produce from ‘Scotland’s Larder’. From here you can also enjoy views of the loch to the front and garden views from the double doors to the back.

From Waters Edge, there is a wonderful 30-minute lochside walk to the nearest village of Balloch. En route, you can choose to eat or have a cocktail in some of the best restaurants in the west of Scotland. Alternatively, you can walk 15 minutes north and take the boat to Inchmurrin Island for dinner – a lovely summer’s night out.

Gartmore House is an impressive 18th Century mansion house, steeped in history and set within its own private grounds outside of Gartmore in Stirling. Our guest house is set within the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park and is an ideal base for those who are looking for a relaxing break away.

The guest rooms are a mix of twins, doubles and family rooms. Many have wonderful views towards Stirling. A lift services all floors and guests can take a trip in it to the roof terrace by arrangement, where breathtaking 360 degree views of the spectacular surrounding scenery can be seen.

Guests can relax in the lounge beside the log fire and look out over Flanders Moss or if preferred, enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the library. Alternately why not explore the 75 acres of private grounds that surround our accommodation. Guests are free to enjoy a stroll in the many paths and trails or visit the walled garden currently being run as a community project.

The House contains many eye catching features, including the large entrance hall with an impressive fireplace and sandstone balcony and a welcoming lounge with views that stretch 25 miles towards Stirling. The period decorative detail and historic character in many of the rooms contrast with the sharp contemporary decor in others offering guests a unique atmosphere. The property is heated by biomass which provides all our heat and hot water. It uses a wood fuel boiler that runs on woodchip from locally grown timber from sustainable forests within a 10 mile radius, thus significantly reducing our carbon footprint.

Gartmore House is set in the beautiful Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and is the ideal base to enjoy the many indoor and outdoor attractions which the area has on offer.
