The Rookhope Inn is a traditional country inn situated in Rookhope, a pretty village a short drive from Bishop Auckland in Durham.
Our inn offers travellers comfortable guest accommodation as well as a friendly pub atmosphere and traditional country pub food and a fine selection of ales.We have a varied menu and offer traditional, hearty pub grub that is reasonably priced and, most importantly, home cooked using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.
The Rookhope Inn sits on the Coast to Coast cycle route and offers weary cyclists a traditional country inn with accommodation to retreat to after a hard day in the saddle. Our inn is also surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which is perfect for those who enjoy walking, cycling or simply taking in the beautiful scenery and watching wildlife.
Rookhope is a popular second night stop for those taking
three days to complete the Coast To Coast. After a steep climb out of
Allenheads, a 5 mile downhill run deposits the cyclist at the door of the
Rookhope Inn. Day three then starts with the last climb of the trip,
followed by about 40 miles downhill to Tynemouth or Sunderland.
The Rookhope Inn will also be doing electric bicycle hire as of May 2015.
