St Andrews Hotel, Ayr, Prestwick, Ayrshire

St. Andrews Hotel is located in an ideal part of Ayrshire, between Ayr and Prestwick. It offers family friendly accommodation that is in a great position for Prestwick Airport, Ayr Racecourse, Northfield Bowling Centre and the many world class golf courses in the area. Newton on Ayr Train station is just around the corner providing a direct rail link between Ayr, Prestwick and Glasgow, there is also a direct bus link with the bus stop situated directly outside the hotel.

There are a range of well appointed, comfortable en suite rooms providing good clean accommodation at a competitive price.

Ayr is the largest coastal town in South West Scotland. It’s a place that attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists each Spring and Summer, swelling the weekly population by 150%. They come for the world class golfing at Royal Troon and Turnberry, for salmon and trout fishing, sailing, grouse shooting, horse racing not to mention to explore historic sites from the impressive Culzean Castle to numerous other castles and the birthplace of Robert Burns, and for the stunning sea views. Golf and Robert Burns put Ayr on the map, but the area's unique charms have kept it there. Rolling hillsides, dramatic coastline and even some of Scotland's famous islands are all within easy reach of Ayr's old town and its architecture stretching back 500 years.

The Brigs of Ayr, as immortalised in the Burns poem of the same name, still stretch over the River Ayr. The nearby Burns National Heritage Park contains the birthplace of the great man as well as a museum dedicated to his honour. Place your bets at Ayr Racecourse or enjoy a round of golf at Turnberry or Royal Troon Golf Course. Walkers can explore the surrounding region's famous hills, islands and coastline.

www.thebandbdirectory.co.uk Stair Inn, Stair, Ayrshire

www.thebandbdirectory.co.uk
Stair Inn, Stair, Ayrshire

The Stair Inn offers superb B&B accommodation in a charming country Inn. Situated in a pretty Ayrshire country village, expect a cosy and comfortable stay in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

The guesthouse offers a range of excellent bedrooms to enjoy, ensuring you have a truly memorable stay. All the rooms have a rustic, clean and individual feel whilst offering all the mod cons expected of high quality accommodation. The rooms are en suite and you'll love the bespoke, handmade furniture made from Scottish hardwoods. Complimentary toiletries soothe and relax you while large fluffy bath sheets help you soak up the pleasures of a hot bath or shower after a day's endeavours. Family rooms are available. The bedrooms sit so well with the whole character of the inn - so pleasing in an age of standardized and stuffy rooms built for the balance sheet rather than the customer.

Guests can experience the charming ground floor bar, which seats up to 45 people. When the sun is shining, alfresco wining and dining can be savoured in the large beer garden and patio area. In the bar area you can also enjoy your meal sitting by the log fire (a must during the winter) or if you prefer you can eat in the dining room – still very informal, but just a little less ‘casual’.

The Stair Inn is in a perfect location to enjoy the local area. Apart from world class Ayrshire golf at Ayrshire golf links and championship courses, you can also enjoy theatre, great shopping, a flutter at Ayr Races – and an area becoming quite quaint but quintessential in its appeal with the shadow of the great poet Robert Burns always looming - and magnificent award winning beaches and great boat trips on the paddle steamer Waverley not so far away either.
