Following a fantastic refurbishment of this Grade II historic inn, we now feature a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen, inviting outdoor spaces with an oak pavilion and landscaped gardens, plus four stunning bed & breakfast rooms.

Each room is equipped with smart TVs, USB charging stations, abundant electrical outlets, hairdryers, facilities for tea and coffee, complimentary WiFi and options for drying damp outerwear. The stay includes a hearty breakfast, with the option to purchase a packed lunch.

Room 1 (Batch Valley): A twin room with an en-suite shower, decorated with original beams, previously serving as the owner's private kitchen.

Room 2 (Ashes Valley): Our most spacious room offers an en-suite shower, decorative beams, heritage windows with a window seat and a distinctive slipper bath at its heart.

Room 3 (Inwood): A cosy double room with an en-suite shower, a sleek sliding door and elegant wooden panelling.

Room 4 (Cwm Dale): A larger double room featuring an en-suite shower, a decorative fireplace, classic windows and wood panelling.

The pub has maintained its traditional charm with a classic bar adorned with box seating, a wood-burning stove and hardwood floors. Our lounge, favoured by diners, provides a warm environment with exposed beams, a large fireplace, traditional wood floors and windows. The dining room serves breakfast and daily meals, offering a semi-private ambience ideal for larger groups without feeling separated from the bar ambience.

Our exterior space includes a beer garden capable of accommodating up to 150 guests, featuring a covered oak pavilion with a log burner and an external bar. In the summer, we delight our guests with homemade wood-fired pizzas right from our outdoor pizza oven.

CherryLee, Sandown, Isle of Wight

CherryLee, Sandown, Isle of Wight

CherryLee offers well-appointed bed and breakfast accommodation situated less than a 2 or 3-minute gentle walk from Sandown town, seafront and pier on the stunning Isle of Wight. Transport links are nearby including bus stops across the road and the railway station just 10 minutes’ walk away. CherryLee is a family run bed and breakfast which welcomes all guests as friends.

Superbly situated beside the sparkling waters of Sandown Bay, the twin resorts of Sandown and Shanklin have delighted generations of holidaymakers for over 150 years.

Early Victorian visitors were so captivated by the magnificent bay and sheltered golden sands that within a few decades the sparsely populated community of Sandown saw an explosion of investment and development, culminating in the opening of the railway line from Ryde in 1864. The Victorians laid out the broad seafront promenades and beautiful parks and gardens. They built fine town and country villas, many of which have been converted into hotels and apartments. The cliff top path offers a wonderful walk, with panoramic views of the bay and continues all the way to Shanklin, passing Lake, which has its own railway station, hotels, guest houses, shops and water sports centre.

Sandown seafront is just yards from the town’s shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, with easy level walking along the broad promenades and sea wall. Safe bathing and a mild climate with consistently high placing in the U. K’s sunshine records provide the essential ingredients for a summer holiday. You will find deckchairs, beach huts, water sports and the pier, which dates from 1879 and now provides all-weather amusements and the opportunity to walk out over the sea, which is just as exciting for today’s visitors as it was to the Victorians.

Along Culver Parade you’ll find tennis, bowls, crazy golf, a pitch and putt course, the Tiger Sanctuary and Dinosaur Isle Museum. At the southern end of town, the Heights Health and Leisure Base has indoor swimming pools and further inland is a fine 18 hole golf course. Sandown Carnival in July is the Island’s first of the season, the Regatta and illuminated Carnival are in August.

Just two miles inland from Sandown is the historic Kyngs Towne of Brading, with its Norman Church, manor houses of Morton and Nunwell, 3rd century Roman Villa and ancient cottages housing museums, craft shops and tea rooms.
