Oban is recognised as the "Gateway to the
Isles" with ferry access to Mull, Iona, Tiree, Coll and Colonsay offering
a variety of day trips. The most popular is the "Three Isles trip"
taking in Mull, Iona (Iona Abbey where St. Columba brought Christianity to

the winding streets overlooking the bay buzzing with activity, then a walk up
to the coliseum, McCaig's Tower high above the town with stunning views over
the bay and beyond, finishing off with a visit to sample the delights of Oban
Distillery.
Opposite Glenbervie on Dalriach Road is Oban Bowling Club
and Atlantis Leisure, with Swimming, Tennis, Squash and Gymnasium all open to
the public. There is a two screen cinema in the town which is a short walk
away. Golf is available with a testing 18 hole course within a 5 minute drive
and Sea Life Centre and Cruachan's famous "Hollow Mountain" Visitor
Centre are all within a 15 mile radius of Oban.
