The
Old Red Lion is in the quaint village of Ipstones and offers B&B
accommodation that is just outside of Stoke-on-Trent.
Our
family run bed and breakfast was a 17th century coaching inn and still has many
of its original features such as; old beams, brasses & a real log fire. The
inn is ideally situated for a relaxing break in the beautiful Staffordshire
Moorlands.
We are
situated between Ashbourne and Stoke on Trent, on the edge of the Peak
District. There are many local walking trails, The Cauldron Canal, Manifold
Valley the Roaches & Dovedale. Alton Towers a 10 minute drive away.
Other
activities include rock climbing at the Roaches, boating at Rudyard, fishing at
Tittersworth, pony trekking at Endon, golf at Whiston or leek, clay pigeon
shoots can be arranged too.
The
Potteries Shopping Centre and Festival Park with shops, cinema, dry ski slopes,
ten pin bowling and Water World are a 30 minute drive away. For more
traditional interests there are pottery museums, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall,
Trentham Gardens, shops, and Monkey Park within easy driving distance.
On our
doorstep is Blackbrook Zoological Park and the Coombe Valley Nature Reserve.
