The Folly is a
late medieval manor house which retains the 'country house' style of a more
leisurely age. Charming bed & breakfast accommodation is on offer where you
can enjoy a period atmosphere and delicious food in an historical setting in
the heart of Suffolk.
The garden is
some three acres, during the shooting season pheasants use it as a refuge and
can often be seen looking through the French windows!
There is an old
croquet lawn which guests are free to use. For guests that do not drive we can
collect you from the railway station and during your stay give you a tour of
the places of interest in the area. There are many and varied walks available
from the house.
The food is a
highlight of staying at Haughley; Caroline and Jeffrey are accomplished cooks
who believe that using the finest ingredients is the key to your culinary
excellence; using organic vegetables grown in their walled kitchen garden,
fruit from the orchard and eggs from their hens. They are able to offer beef
from their own traditionally reared cattle and game is from their own land;
other meats are sourced locally from reliable producers.
