Compton House offers bed and breakfast accommodation just a short stroll from the historic Somerset town of Axbridge. We are also located on the edge of the magnificent Mendip Hills which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Our five charming and generous bedrooms have many original historic features, which have been furnished with family furniture to provide that delightful, homely feel that many guests appreciate. They have all been superbly equipped with plenty of mod cons.
Breakfast is a wholesome affair, you can choose all or some of the following - cereals, local yoghurts, juices, toasts/croissants, local sausage and bacon and much more. Vegetarian breakfasts are also provided and we can cater for the smaller appetite as well. You can also have breakfast at a time that suits you and we serve complimentary tea/coffee during your stay.
Compton House lies at the west end of Axbridge, a medieval town mentioned in the Domesday Book. With the Cheddar Caves, historic Wells and Bath, meditative Glastonbury and bustling Bristol on our doorstep, we offer more than just an ideal place to break your journey westward. If its action and adventure you're after, then try rock climbing and caving or walk, cycle, horse ride, play a round of golf, paraglide, balloon, go-cart or try the nearby dry ski slopes.
