Higher Orchard in Sherborne, Dorset, offers beautiful guesthouse accommodation in an imaginatively converted barn. Surrounded by spectacular countryside and situated in glorious gardens, it offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
The comfortable barn contains a master bedroom with double bed, a bunk room sleeping 2 young children (the bunk beds are only 5' 9" long), a living room with a small kitchenette and a bathroom with handheld shower.
The barn is nearby but separate to the main house and there is ample parking space.
There is also accommodation available in a Shepherd's Hut which can sleep 2 in a double bed. It includes a log burner, microwave combi oven and a fire pit.
After discussion with the owners, enjoy walking around the wonderful gardens, lake and fields and use the swimming pool (open in summer months).
Higher Orchard enjoys amazing views over Dorset Wildlife Trust land and open countryside and there are plenty of footpaths and bridleways in all directions. The village pub The Mitre is only 10 minutes’ walk away and serves very good food. The charming market town of Sherborne is only two miles away. It boasts a range of local shops, cafes and restaurants as well as two castles and the beautiful Abbey, with some of the finest fan-vaulting in the country. Yeovil, with its Fleet Air Arm Museum, is six miles away. Further afield are Frome, Bath, Glastonbury, Street with its shopping village and the stunning Jurassic Coast as well as the historic town of Dorchester.
