Within easy reach of the Lake District National Park (on the A686 recently included in the AA Magazine's "The World's 10 Great Drives"), Northumberland National Park and Yorkshire Dales National Park. Newcastle, Carlisle, Penrith, Appleby, Keswick, Ambleside, Kendal, all are in easy reach driving through some of the best countryside in the world. Ullswater, probably the best of the lakes is only 30 minutes away.
