Wheelgate Bed and Breakfast is in the heart of England's beautiful Lake District. It is situated in a peaceful location just a stone's throw from Coniston Water.
All rooms are en suite and come with a shower, comfortable pocket sprung bed, TV with Freeview, Wi-Fi access (except the Hideaway), tea and coffee making facilities, big fluffy towels and Pure Lakes toiletries.
The highly acclaimed Wheelgate Breakfast caters for all tastes and appetites and uses homemade and locally sourced produce whenever possible. Choose from a tempting selection of cereals, yoghurts, juice and fresh fruit.
The Wheelgate Grill is freshly prepared to order and features homemade Cumberland sausage and home-cured bacon from Melville Tyson (the local butcher) and of course local free-range eggs. For the hungry, the grill makes a superb start to the day, but if you prefer something lighter, Scottish smoked salmon with scrambled egg, natural smoked haddock with a poached egg or a Manx skipper is also available. There is always plenty of hot toast made with the delicious homemade bread.
For those interested in walking or visiting local attractions and beauty spots, the owners are happy to lend guide books and maps of the area and if you are unfortunate enough to get caught out by the Lakeland weather, there is a utility room for drying wet coats and boots available. For keen cyclists, secure bike storage is available.
