Conveniently located in Freefolk Priors, near Whitchurch, the inn provides easy access to Basingstoke, Andover, Newbury, and Winchester. With major routes such as the M3, A34, and A303 nearby, it serves as an ideal gathering place for friends and family.
The inn features seven beautifully decorated bedrooms, including three situated within the original inn and four garden rooms on the ground floor, one of which is a spacious family room. The self-contained garden rooms are thoughtfully positioned within the inn’s gardens, blending seamlessly with the peaceful outdoor surroundings. Each en-suite room is uniquely named after a character from the Watership Down novel, adding a distinctive touch to every stay.
Pet owners are warmly welcomed, with dogs permitted in both the bar and garden rooms. To ensure a pleasant experience for all guests, dogs must be kept on a leash in the bar area. Up to two dogs per room can be accommodated, and guests are encouraged to mention their pets when booking.
The Watership Down Inn is open for business most of the week, serving delicious lunches and dinners daily, except on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings when the restaurant is closed.
