The Mill forms part of a collection of historic farm buildings dating back to around 1850, set in the Suffolk countryside between Bury St Edmunds and Thetford. Offering a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, it provides an ideal retreat for travelling professionals, nature enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers seeking comfort and convenience in a peaceful rural setting.
The property features four bedrooms, which can be booked individually on a bed and breakfast basis or rented as a whole-house holiday retreat. Guests choosing the bed and breakfast option can enjoy a self-serve breakfast each morning, with a selection of bread, cereals, fruit, juice, tea and coffee available. The fridge is well stocked, allowing guests to start the day at their own pace. Additional breakfast provisions include fresh eggs from the owners’ hens, homemade bread baked by Piers using flour from a local mill, porridge, seasonal fruit, homemade jams and honey from the property’s own bees, along with a range of teas and coffee for a full continental-style breakfast. Special breakfast requests can also be accommodated with advance notice.
Although The Mill does not usually provide a catered evening meal service, guests have full access to a well-equipped kitchen. Facilities include an oven, microwave, dishwasher and all essential cooking tools, along with a supply of staple ingredients, enabling guests to prepare meals whenever they wish. For those arriving on foot or by bicycle, basic provisions for a simple meal can be arranged at an additional charge, provided this is requested in advance.
A range of thoughtful amenities are offered at no extra cost, helping to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests. These include a cot, high chair, allergy-free bedding, a bike repair bench and wheelchair access. Laundry facilities are also available for a small additional fee.
Accommodation includes two king size bedrooms, while the remaining two rooms can be arranged as either a superking or twin rooms. All bedrooms are located on the ground floor and each has its own shower, with the exception of Tobago, which features both a bath and a shower. Guests are provided with soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels, robes, slippers and a hairdryer for added comfort.
Outside, guests can enjoy a natural swimming pond for those who fancy a refreshing dip, along with an outdoor pavilion featuring a barbecue and dining area, ideal for relaxed meals and evenings in the Suffolk countryside.
