St. Cuthbert’s House is a 200-year-old former chapel, sensitively and imaginatively converted into luxurious, award-winning bed and breakfast accommodation. Situated in Seahouses, near Bamburgh, on the beautiful Northumberland coast, it’s just a stroll along the beach to Bamburgh Castle, and a short drive to Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.

This historic, Grade II-listed building has been tastefully restored and converted by owners Jeff & Jill Sutheran, in a way that retains many of its original features and much of its period character. Yet it also has the modern facilities and special finishing touches that you’d expect from a five-star rated B&B.

All guest rooms have en suite bathrooms; some with both a bath and shower and others with a large walk-in shower enclosure. The two ground-floor bedrooms offer easy access to both the car park and the communal areas of the house, and the Bede Room is particularly suitable for mobility-impaired guests because it has wider doorways and a large wet room-style bathroom.

You’re spoiled for choice from an extensive breakfast menu; enjoy a hearty Northumbrian breakfast freshly prepared with the finest quality, local ingredients including award-winning sausage and bacon from a local butcher and free-range eggs from a nearby farm or perhaps try a dish made with traditional oak-smoked fish from the iconic smokehouse at Seahouses.
