The Smugglers Rest, Mortehoe, Woolacombe, Devon

Built in the 1800s and rich in history, the Smugglers Rest Bed and Breakfast has been a welcoming haven for visitors for over a century. Located at the entrance to the picturesque coastal village of Morthoe, just a short walk from one of Europe's finest beaches at Woolacombe, this historic building has recently undergone extensive renovations. Under the care of new owners Stacey and Will, the old bar has been transformed into the charming Miss Fea's Bistro.

Visitors can enjoy the summer sun with a glass of rosé in the sheltered garden or warm up next to the cosy wood-burning stove with a steaming mug of posh hot chocolate after a brisk winter walk. Miss Fea's Bistro offers a friendly welcome year-round.

The Bistro serves fabulous food in a relaxing environment, showcasing some of the finest Devonshire produce. From succulent loin of Exmoor venison to wonderful roast hake fillet, there is something to delight every palate.

The unrivalled countryside and numerous winding coastal paths beginning right outside Miss Fea's doorstep invite exploration. The bistro enhances outdoor adventures with a selection of wicker-packed picnics and travel hampers, available for pre-order with or without champagne. Picnic blankets are provided, so guests only need to bring their hiking boots and sense of adventure.

For those planning to explore the beautiful surrounding area, the Smugglers Rest offers 8 spacious en suite rooms with stunning views of the countryside. Accommodations include 3 double rooms, 4 king-size rooms, 1 twin room, and 1 family room. Breakfast is served in the comfortable surroundings of Miss Fea's Cafe.

Initially opening for daytime delectations, Miss Fea's will soon offer heavenly-cooked breakfasts for non-residents and will host regular evening dining events, live music, and murder mystery nights. Stacey and Will are proud and excited to usher the long-established Smugglers Rest into its bright new future and look forward to welcoming guests very soon. There is indeed life in the old dog yet!

Lundy House Hotel offers guest accommodation a 10 minute walk from the centre of Morthoe, near the seaside town of Woolacombe. The bed and breakfast has views across to Lundy Island.

The Lundy House Hotel is a small family run hotel where guests are assured of a comfortable, relaxing and truly memorable holiday in idyllic surroundings. All of the bedrooms have en suite facilities and there are 2 deluxe rooms that are larger than the standard room and offer sea views, larger bathrooms and have a balcony.

The local area offers a range of attractions and activities including visiting many of the beaches. Surfing is very popular in the area and wet suites and surf boards can be hired in the village.

Mortehoe is a lovely place to walk as it surrounded by National Trust land meaning you can see some amazing wildlife whilst walking Morte Point. If you are lucky you may even see some seals or dolphins off the coast.

The Smugglers Rest is a traditional stone built, dog friendly pub that is located in the Devon village of Mortehoe.

The pub provides accommodation, food and a large selection of drinks.

We offer a varied, freshly prepared menu including vegetarian and specialist dishes. Food can be enjoyed either in the bar area, restaurant or in the garden on a fine day.

The bar has a traditional English feel and incorporates all the great features you would expect from a pub in the heart of the Devonshire countryside. Packed lunches are available, please advise us accordingly if you would like one.

The Smugglers Rest Inn is the perfect place to be based if you are visiting the area for a golf-oriented holiday due to its proximity to Woolacombe & Mortehoe Golf Club and also Willingcott Valley Golf Vourse.
