Moffat is located about 1 mile from Jnct. 15 on the M74. Carlisle is approx. 40 miles to the south and both Glasgow and Edinburgh are 50 miles to the north. It is a popular and busy small country town which offers a good range of shops and amenities. Moffat is ideally situated close to the motorway for those travellers who require an overnight stop or who wish to include Moffat as part of a longer touring holiday in the lovely surroundings of Dumfriesshire. It is wonderful walking country, has a good golf course plus plenty of local fishing and bird-watching. Cycling and motor biking are becoming ever more popular as the roads in this area are quieter and offer a safer environment for these pursuits.
