Plas Y Bwlch is a charming 4-star bed and breakfast located in Llangurig near Llanidloes, Powys. The name of this cosy Georgian-style farmhouse translates to "Mansion of the Valley," making it an ideal retreat for those seeking a peaceful rural getaway.

The B&B accommodation is situated on the lower ground floor, accessible via an internal staircase. It features one double room and one twin room, both of which have en suite bathrooms. Each bedroom is equipped with beverage facilities, a television, a hairdryer, an alarm clock/radio, and various other home comforts.

Guests can also unwind in a separate lounge/dining room, which includes an original bread oven. This room is equipped with its own television and offers a wealth of literature on the surrounding areas and local activities.

The bed and breakfast is set on a smallholding that spans 15 acres of farmland, offering breathtaking views of the Upper Wye Valley. The farm is home to a small flock of Pedigree Dutch Zwartbles sheep, which are rare in the UK, as well as Beulah speckled and Devils’ Bridge speckled sheep. Various chickens are also kept on the farm, ensuring guests can enjoy fresh farm eggs with their hearty breakfast each morning.

For those eager to explore, Plas Y Bwlch provides a selection of maps and literature covering the Wye Valley and surrounding countryside. The area is renowned for its walking and cycling routes, with Lon Las Cymru (The Welsh National Cycle Route) passing through Llangurig on its way to Rhayader, and The Severn Way, which extends some 210 miles, making it the longest riverside walk in Britain. Packed lunches are available upon request.

The large swept drive at Plas Y Bwlch offers ample off-road parking for guests, and for enthusiasts, secure and locked parking is available for bikes, trailers, and rally cars.
