Llanrhaeadr is a typical Welsh village on the border of two counties, marking the division between Mid and North Wales. The village, with its beautiful surroundings and pretty stone cottages, offers a perfect setting for those seeking to "get away from it all." It was here that "The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill but Came Down a Mountain," starring Hugh Grant, was filmed. In 1588, Bishop Morgan translated the Bible into Welsh at St. Dogfan's Church in Llanrhaeadr.

For the more adventurous, Llanrhaeadr is an ideal location for activities such as abseiling, canoeing, climbing, horse riding, paragliding, quad biking, walking, and white-water rafting. Additionally, visitors can hire a bike and cycle around Lake Vyrnwy.
