The Cookie Jar offers luxurious accommodation in the heart of Alnwick. This boutique hotel in Northumberland, formerly the Convent of Mercy, has been beautifully renovated to offer stunning rooms and suites.
Housed in a historic building, the hotel provides a truly unique and indulgent experience, with each room brimming with individual character and style. The interior design was led by Matt Hulme of Dynargh Design, a renowned interior designer known for his work on many Hotel du Vins, including those in Newcastle, Cambridge, and Edinburgh.
The Cookie Jar offers 11 rooms varying in size and style: 3 cosy, 5 luxury, 2 mother, and 1 chapel suite. Additional beds can be arranged. The Goswick room is fully adapted for disabled guests, featuring a completely adapted wet room. The Chapel is the mother of all superior rooms, boasting historical features, including a beautiful stained-glass circular window and oversized bathtubs for a perfect soaking experience.
Each room has been meticulously designed with gorgeous furnishings, blending classic with contemporary styles. The walls are adorned with fantastic artwork from local artists. Lavish facilities include beautiful bathrooms, fluffy towels, scented toiletries, plasma screen TVs, and tea and coffee-making facilities.
On the ground floor, guests can unwind in the elegant lounge, where drinks and hot food are served throughout the day. The lounge also offers lovely afternoon tea and evening drinks for a completely relaxing experience. A drying room on the ground floor provides heater cabinets and boot racks, and a secure gun cabinet is available for guests here for shooting.
Guests can savour a sumptuous dining experience at the hotel's restaurant, The Bailiffgate Bistro, which overlooks the garden and terrace. The restaurant offers a wonderful menu designed to tantalise taste buds.
