A collection of chickens also roam the land, ensuring that guests are served fresh farm eggs as part of their hearty farmhouse breakfast.

For guests who wish to explore the area, maps and local information are readily available, and packed lunches can be provided on request.

For those arriving by car, the B&B has a spacious, swept driveway offering ample off-road parking. Additional secure and locked storage is also available for bicycles, trailers, and rally cars, making Plas Y Bwlch a convenient choice for enthusiasts and adventurers alike.

www.thebandbdirectory.co.uk Plas Y Bwlch, Llangurig, Llanidloes, Powys

http://thebandbdirectory.co.uk/

Pauline and Michael welcome guests to come and share the wonderful countryside at Plas Bwlch.

The name translates to Mansion of the Valley and is a cosy Georgian style farmhouse, situated approx 1000 feet above sea level. Our smallholding extends to 15 acres of farmland with breathtaking views up and down the Upper Wye Valley.

On our farm we run a small flock of Pedigree Dutch Zwartbles sheep, which are quite rare in the U.K. together with a flock of Beulah speckled and Devils. Bridge speckled sheep. We also keep various chickens, so guests can be assured of fresh farm eggs with their hearty breakfast in the morning.

Lambing usually takes place around the end of March or beginning of April and guests are most welcome to come and see the baby lambs, especially the Zwartbles lambs, who look like small calves when they are young. For the bird watchers among you Plas Bwlch offers spectacular views of the beautiful Red Kite, which has been re-introduced throughout Mid Wales, soaring up on the thermals for hours on end.

The Kite was at the point of extinction but now, thankfully, it is thriving yet again. For an even closer view, guests can visit the local Red Kite feeding stations. We are also visited by sparrowhawks, woodpeckers, nuthatches, siskins to name but a few. Very recently we have had a pair of Osprey come into the area, as they follow the River Wye up through the valley.

We can make packed lunches on request. Our large swept drive has ample off road parking for guests and for the enthusiasts out there we also offer secure and locked parking for bikes, trailers and rally cars.
