Portland House offers fabulous guest house accommodation in Keswick. Our Cumbrian guest house is close to the town centre and perfect for a relaxing break in The Lake District.

Our spacious Victorian townhouse dates from the 1880s and now offers high-quality accommodation. We have 5 elegant bedrooms to choose from, including one on the ground floor for people with limited mobility. All the rooms are large and enjoy en suite shower facilities. Excellent facilities in all the rooms include luxury Bath House toiletries, a hospitality tray including home-made shortbread and a TV.

You can savour a delicious award-winning breakfast to set you up for a day of sightseeing. From a full Cumberland breakfast to a vegetarian or lighter option, we have something for everyone. 

Activities available locally include sailing, windsurfing, horse riding, rock climbing, golf and many more. The Lake District National Park offers motorcyclists the opportunity to ride roads in some of the most spectacular and breathtaking scenery in the country. Some roads are very challenging with steep climbs but are an experience not to be missed!

Brooklands Guest House is a traditional guest house built at the end of the 19th century. This family-run guest house is set in a quiet and tranquil location with fine views over the fells of the Lake District National Park & Windermere Lake.

Our guest house consists of 5 bedrooms, ranging from single to family rooms. 

All guest rooms are en suite and have tea and coffee making facilities. 

Start the day right with our hearty Lakeland breakfast. If you are off for a day's walking, why not take one of Karen’s packed lunches? We are open all year and have private parking off road, alongside the house. We offer free fishing permits for guests for the local waters.

Brooklands is a 10-15 minute stroll to Bowness Village and Lake Windermere. Boats sail regularly from Bowness Pier to Ambleside or Lakeside for the Steam Train and the Freshwater Aquarium. The world of Beatrix Potter and Blackwell, The Arts and Crafts House, are also situated close by

The awe-inspiring scenery around Derwentwater can all be taken in with a gentle cruise on one of the launches or rowing boat.

Westley B&B provides friendly and quaint accommodation within the village of Uplyme. It provides easy access for the beautiful beach and town of Lyme Regis. This is a beautiful area packed with outdoor activities and annual events.

Each room has a flat screen TV, Wi-Fi and welcome tray which includes homemade ginger oat biscuits. A delicious full English breakfast is served in the conservatory. produce includes local free range eggs, quality bacon, sausages from the butchers and homemade bread. Lyme is a popular sailing haven, and there is always plenty of activity to join or watch, in the harbour or on the beach. There are walks available straight from the house. From the beach, there is the South West Coastal Path to join. Lyme Regis also has plenty of shops and places to eat.
