The Avoncourt Lodge is in a quiet residential private road, on the rocky west side of Ilfracombe. The South West Coastal Path runs right past the front door. Turn right and you have stunning walks along the cliffs and National Trust land. Turn left and you are only a few minutes’ walk from the famous Tunnels Beaches with their safe bathing, fascinating rock pools and beautiful wedding venue. The harbour and sea front, wide choice of restaurants and traditional high street are all within a 20 minute walk.

We offer guests comfortable, light and airy B&B accommodation, where you can enjoy a good night’s sleep followed by a hearty breakfast to set you up for the day. We also have a drying room available, which provides a space to hang surfing gear or damp clothing and is also safe storage for cycles and recharging e-bikes.

We have a guest lounge and library with books and TV, and an ‘honesty bar’ where you are welcome to relax with a glass of wine or soft drink and play darts or board games.

All our rooms are ensuite, most with full length tubs and a couple with small balconies. Several have excellent views across the whole of Ilfracombe, and all have tea and coffee, wi-fi, hairdryers and usual amenities. Most are on the first floor, and we also have one ground floor room which is useful for those with reduced mobility and those with dogs as it provides easy access to the front door.

Dogs are very welcome, for a small additional fee, and are allowed throughout the building. Children over 10 are also most welcome.
