Nut Tree Farm at
Stoughton Cross is a 16th Century Farmhouse set in two acres of secluded
peaceful semi-wild garden, orchard and woodland area in beautiful Somerset
countryside.
We are 1.25 miles
from the attractive and historic village of Wedmore. Stoughton Cross was a
pilgrim stopover and still has a medieval stone cross and a holy well.
Wedmore, our
wonderful village, is the location of the peace treaty between King Alfred and
the Danes. It is a vibrant village with something going on most evenings.
Nut Tree Farm is
located in an ideal holiday area. We are well situated for visits to Wells, the
smallest City in Britain, with its magnificent Cathedral and Bishop's Palace:
Glastonbury is the ancient spiritual centre of Britain, where legends abound,
relating to Arthur, the giant zodiac, visits from Jesus and Joseph of
Arimathea. You may visit the Abbey Ruins and Museum, the Tor, Chalice Well (and
drink the healing waters) and the Rural Life Museum: Cheddar and Wookey Hole.
Tynesfield House NT. amongst the many places of interest.
