Low House Farm, Lune Valley, Claughton, Lancashire
Low House Farm offers wonderful B&B accommodation in the picturesque Lune Valley in Claughton, Lancashire. This gorgeous guesthouse offers excellent accommodation in 3 relaxing and comfortable bedrooms.
The family room has an en suite shower room with a double and a single bed, and can easily have an extra bed or cot added should the need arise. The double room has adjoining private bathroom and a panoramic view of the Lune Valley. The single room is a pretty room with a garden view and shares a large Victorian style bathroom with the owners. All rooms at this accommodation have tea/coffee making facilities, TV and radio and hairdryers.
There are usually some farm animals in the field directly outside the window. Depending on the time of year there may be cows or sheep with their lambs and there will always be the hens which provide the eggs for your breakfast. There may also be rabbits or pheasants together with the usual garden birds. You can even enjoy your breakfast looking out at the beautiful Lune Valley with the Yorkshire Dales as a backdrop!
The River Lune starts its life near the village of Newbiggin, up in the Cumbrian hills then flows down through the Tebay gorge with the Lakeland fells on one side and the Howgills on the other. From there it flows down to Sedbergh as the surrounding countryside becomes less harsh and the valley widens. At Kirkby Lonsdale it provides a well known beauty spot and gathering place on its banks at Devil's Bridge. This is also a very attractive little market town with many small interesting shops and a large variety of eating (and drinking) establishments. The River Lune then links Kirkby Lonsdale and the historic city of Lancaster meandering through some of England's most stunning scenery.
