5 Chapel Street, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Located in the heart of Chesterton and close to the river Cam, 5 Chapel Street is a small Georgian townhouse lovingly restored and converted into a welcoming B&B which offers superior accommodation to Cambridge visitors.
We pride ourselves on the quality of the breakfast at 5 Chapel Street, using organic ingredients where we can and featuring the best local suppliers. Our bread is either home-baked or from the talented artisan baker, Bread on a Bike. We offer a homemade cereal as well as fresh fruit salad every morning. Tea is loose-leaf and plentiful while our coffee is roasted locally, from Hot Numbers.
There is a wide choice of cooked breakfast. The “Full English” features free range Suffolk pork sausages and bacon from the award winning Gog Magog Butchers and delicious free range eggs from the excellent Radmore Farm Shop, down the road. Kedgeree made from Norfolk smoked haddock is a popular alternative as are kippers smoked in Norfolk and served with Mediterranean style fried tomatoes.
We can also recommend The Old Spring, a popular gastro-pub, just a short walk from Chapel Street. Thirsty, is a very welcome new addition, an independent wine shop that offers evening tastings and also hosts various top quality street-food vans several nights a week. Customers can eat on the spot, with wine or micro-brewed beer from the shop.
