Riverbank House, Matlock, Derbyshire, Peak District National Park
Riverbank House is a family-owned bed and breakfast that sits by the banks of the River Derwent. It is the only Matlock B&B to have a river frontage and private parking within a quiet cul de sac. The B&B is conveniently located just a short drive from Bakewell, Chatsworth House & Haddon Hall. The Heights of Abraham & Gulliver’s Kingdom are 1 mile away.
Built in the 1860s, Riverbank House is a spacious Victorian house with a large garden on the river where guests can relax & while away those sunny hours.
All bedrooms offer en suite facilities (one of which has a bath and a shower), television, beverage tray with tea and coffee, tourist information pack, complimentary organic toiletries & hairdryer.
Walkers are also catered for, drying facilities are available should you get caught in a shower during your walk. An additional cot or folding bed is also available in the family room for larger families.
Breakfast is included within the room rate and is freshly prepared each morning. A full English or continental option is included and vegetarian, vegan and coeliac alternatives are available.
Riverbank House is ideally placed in the centre of Matlock, allowing you to explore the town and its attractions. The Matlocks, including Matlock Bath and Matlock itself, consists of the chain of small towns running down the spectacular Derwent valley. Known as the area of 1000 views, and a gateway to the Derbyshire Dales, the Matlocks typify Derbyshire scenery at its best: a combination of river valley, wooded hills with steep sides and the occasional dramatic limestone crag and peak. There is a spider’s web of paths which enable the visitor to explore this countryside.
