Melrose Guest House is in the centre of Ambleside and is an elegant Victorian Guest House. Whether you are looking for a short break, mid-week treat or a family holiday to the Lake District, we look forward to welcoming you.
We have ensured that our guest house is furnished to an excellent standard and has been accredited a 4 Star Silver Award from Visit England. We have safe storage for bikes, hard standing for motorbikes and also drying facilities for outdoor clothing.
You can choose from 8 stylish bedrooms, with some boasting stunning fell views. You can choose from single, double, king and superior double rooms. For a special occasion, we also have a wonderful four-poster room.
If you are celebrating a special occasion, we can arrange flowers, locally handmade chocolate, wine or champagne, waiting for your arrival.
In the morning, breakfast can be enjoyed in our dining room which is at the front of the house. You can savour a home-cooked full Cumbrian or vegetarian breakfast using locally sourced produce, including local jams and relishes. Lighter options are available and special diets are catered for.
As well as a plethora of walks and routes just waiting to be explored, there are also many attractions including Windermere Steamboats Museum, Wray Castle, World of Beatrix Potter and Stott Park Bobbin Mill.
