The Old Bakery, Pulham Market, Diss, Norfolk

The Old Bakery, Pulham Market, Diss, Norfolk

Come and stay at The Old Bakery in beautiful South Norfolk. You'll find them in the stunning Waveney Valley in Pulham Market, a small but perfectly formed, quintessentially Norfolk village, which boasts a traditional Village Green, charming period cottages with thatched roofs, a village pub serving good food and stunning scenery.

The Old Bakery is a delightful listed building, with wattle and daub walls and a timber frame, exposed internal beams and bags of character. Dating from 1580, The Old Bakery was established in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I as the main bakery for the Pulhams, although the last baker retired in 1951. The building has been in continuous use for more than 400 years, as a bakery, a restaurant and now as a bed and breakfast.

There are 5 spacious rooms available which are all en suite. Two of the rooms can be used as twins or king-size rooms. Sit back and relax in the expansive, welcoming lounge with exposed beams, huge comfortable sofas and a roaring fire in winter.

We have a delightful garden with a south-facing Garden Room where visitors are welcome to take afternoon tea or sip on something stronger. The garden is beautifully planted with items of interest and colour all year round.

Wake up each morning to a delicious fresh breakfast made using the finest local produce. Cooked to order, their sumptuous full English breakfasts feature Norfolk bacon, sausages and free-range eggs from the local farm shop and butcher. Fruit juices, with ground coffee and a selection of the finest teas, are sure to tempt your taste buds. If something lighter is more your cup of tea in the morning, they also offer a range of fruit, yoghurt, cereals, and bread from our local bakery.
