Rum Doodle, Windermere, Cumbria, Lake District

Rum Doodle, Windermere, Cumbria, Lake District

Rum Doodle offers excellent quality bed and breakfast accommodation. This traditional Lakeland guest house set midway between Windermere and Bowness is a lot more than your average B&B.

The luxurious guest rooms have been individually designed and furnished, providing guests with unique boutique accommodation. Inspiration has been taken from the vintage feel of the book and its characters. The 9 rooms are named after the hapless adventurers, while the top floor suite is naturally, The Summit. But there's no roughing it here; rather you'll have fine Egyptian cotton bed linen, award-winning breakfasts and free Wi-Fi throughout the house. The bumbling explorers were fuelled by copious amounts of ‘medicinal' champagne. At Rum Doodle bed and breakfast, champagne, Prosecco & wine is available without having to scale a peak. And for added treats, there are local handmade chocolates, flowers or silk rose petals scattered on your bed.

Yoga breaks are often organised here at Rum Doodle Windermere. The yoga venue is just perfect - the National Trust's 'Footprint' eco-building set in a woodland glade, where the only sounds you hear are birdsong & a babbling brook.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and they are proud to offer guests a good quality award-winning breakfast to ensure you start the day right. Start the day with a traditional full English breakfast or try the scrumptious scrambled egg and smoked salmon speciality, and for those wanting something lighter or for vegetarians there are plenty of alternatives to offer, or on those rare summer days enjoy breakfast out on the terrace.

You can always be sure of a warm welcome; the main aim is to help you have an enjoyable and relaxed holiday in a peaceful surrounding. During your stay why not take a stroll into either of the two resort villages, Windermere or Bowness, as the guesthouse is located close to their amenities yet being in a quiet backwater. Or you may decide to travel further afield as Rum Doodle Guest House serves as an excellent base for touring around the Lake District.
