The Wight Mouse Inn is a family owned free house & restaurant in Chale on the Isle of Wight. The inn offers comfortable guest accommodation as well as a wonderful place for families & friends to relax and enjoy something to eat and drink.

All of our guest rooms are clean and comfortable to ensure a good night's rest for overnight stays. A hearty breakfast is served in the morning in our restaurant area and food is available all day for those who want it.

There is plenty of space both inside and outside of the inn which is ideal for special occasions and parties. The inn also has a children's play area and plenty of grass for to play on.

If you are only stopping for a drink or a bite to eat then we are in a great stop off point for your journey. Cyclists can turn right out of the carpark and enjoy the flat Military road from The Wight Mouse along to Compton Bay and then the hills and stunning country and sea views along to Freshwater Bay and Yarmouth which is a 22.5km ride. IF you turn left you can enjoy the delights of the hilly 10.5km cycle to Ventnor.

This Area of Outstanding National Beauty leads on to Afton Down, Freshwater Bay and onto the westbound coastal path to Tennyson Down, the Tennyson monument and past the Needles Battery to Alum Bay.

If you want to explore by cycle or by foot then the Victorian town of Ventnor and the surrounding Botanic Gardens, the Undercliff and Steephill Cove are very popular destinations. Ventnor can also be accessed by bus and Steephill Cove is a 15 minute walk along the cliff path or down the slope from the Botanic Gardens or from Ventnor Town.

www.thebandbdirectory.co.uk Sunacre B&B, Chale, Isle of Wight

Sunacre B&B is perfectly situated for an overnight stop along the Coastal Walk around the Island, or a weekend away from the rat race on North Island (England).

There are also some options for those who want to camp, we recently installed an extra al fresco camping washroom loo with solar lighting.

The Tipis are a delight, somehow these structures have a presence beyond the simple poles and fabric, they seem to be part of the environment and just charm away the cares of 21st century busyness. It is called Bobo Glamping apparently and its great fun. They are furnished with hand made pillows bedrolls and soft quilts, little tables and coir matting so it’s all cosy and comfortable.

Butterfly Paragliding, the flying school and Tandem Flight centre, with its simulator, paramotor and paraglider shop is on site in a separate building. If the wind is not suitable for hill soaring, we can use the winch for tow launch training and tandem flights.

www.thebandbdirectory.co.uk The Old House, Chale, Isle Of Wight

Gotten Manor can be found nestling beneath St Catherine's Down and below the Hoy Monument and the Pepper Pot (which was built in C14th by former manor resident Walter de Godyton as a penance for receiving smuggled goods!).

"Stunning bedrooms have lime washed walls, polished wooden floors…You sleep on a French rosewood bed and there's a huge cast iron bath within each room…superb".

"The peaceful location is enhanced by sympathetic restoration…Downstairs…an open fire and a separate cosy dining room where breakfast using the finest ingredients are served ".
"Caroline serves breakfast at separate circular tables in what was the creamery. Her menu might include salmon with scrambled eggs…homemade yoghurt, compote and muesli, organic sausages and smoothies”.

"If wallowing in a huge cast-iron bath followed by soft towels, bath robes, crisp white sheets with the fluffiest pillows ever, is your thing, you'll be in B&B heaven here."

www.thebandbdirectory.co.uk Chale Bay Farm, Chale, Isle of wight

A beautiful and individual guesthouse nestling among rolling fields with stunning views on the south-west of the Isle of Wight.

Situated on the Isle of Wight’s Heritage Coastline in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and with panoramic sea views to the Needles and the chalk cliffs of Tennyson Down, Chale Bay Farm provides an idyllic and tranquil setting.

Originally a Dairy Farm, Chale Bay Farm is set in 26 acres and has modern, purpose-built guest rooms set around a relaxing courtyard with water garden, creating bespoke, luxury guesthouse bed & breakfast accommodation.
The Isle of Wight is one of the most southern parts of the UK and with its own microclimate is much warmer than much of the UK averaging 18C in July and August, with a sunshine record to rival Northern Spain.  Whatever the weather there is always lots to do with Osborne House, Roman Villas, museums, animal parks, leisure centres, bowling, ice skating and much, much more.
