The shallow waters of Vallay Strand directly in front of the bed and breakfast provide ideal conditions for windsurfing and kite-surfing at high tide. 

At low tide, it is possible to walk out to the small, uninhabited island of Vallay, known for its colourful machair and white beaches. The remains of archaeologist Erskine Beveridge’s Victorian mansion, which once had 365 panes of glass and a different coloured fireplace in every room, can be seen. 

Two miles from Struan House B&B is a small but well-stocked Co-op supermarket, a picnic area and nine-hole golf course.
