Tucked away in the scenic Meavy Valley within Dartmoor National Park, Callisham Farm offers a peaceful rural escape full of character and charm. This family-run granite and stone farmhouse sits among tranquil woodlands, close to the gentle sounds of nearby streams, and is the ideal base for nature lovers, walkers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Callisham Farm provides direct access to walking trails without the need to step on a road, making it ideal for guests who want to explore Dartmoor on foot. The surrounding area is also well-suited for fishing, cycling, golfing, and visiting the beautiful coastlines of Devon and Cornwall.

The farmhouse has three south-facing guest rooms, each with views of open fields and Callisham Tor. All rooms come with en suite facilities, a television, and tea and coffee trays. The family room sleeps four, while the quirky single room at the back of the house features a skylight, garden views and a compact en suite with a quadrant shower.

Guests can relax in the comfortable lounge, which features a flagstone floor and a large woodburning stove set in an inglenook fireplace—perfect for unwinding after a day exploring the countryside.

In the morning, guests can enjoy a traditional English breakfast made from fresh local produce, with vegetarian and special dietary options available on request. A room-only option is also available for added flexibility.

Callisham Farm is ideally located just 12 miles from Plymouth and 7 miles from the historic market town of Tavistock. Meavy village, with its green, 12th-century church and 800-year-old Royal Oak Inn, is just a short walk away. The area also offers a selection of dog-friendly pubs, wild swimming spots, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy Dartmoor’s natural beauty.

Callisham Farm offers fantastic accommodation in the pretty valley of Meavy, in Dartmoor National Park. This traditional farm offers peace and tranquillity amongst pretty woodland and babbling brooks in a gorgeous area of Devon.

We have a variety of beautifully furnished rooms available. Both rooms are south-facing and boast glorious views of open fields and Callisham Tor. All the rooms come with en suite facilities, tea/coffee trays, television and views of the fields. The family room sleeps 4.

The guests’ lounge has a flagstone floor and an inglenook fireplace cradling a large wood-burning stove, making any stay warm and homely.

You can enjoy a real English breakfast made from tasty and wholesome local produce. Vegetarian and special diets are catered for on request.

The family-run hill farm is surrounded by excellent walking country. It is also an ideal centre for riding, fishing, golfing, cycling and touring the beautiful coasts of Devon and Cornwall. The historic port of Plymouth is 12 miles away to the south and the ancient stannary town of Tavistock is 7 miles to the north.

Plymouth has good transport links, with an airport, mainline railway station, connection to the motorway via the A38 and M5, plus ferry links to France and Spain. Meavy village, with its picturesque village green, 12th Century church and the famous 800-year-old Royal Oak Inn, is only half a mile away by road or a short stroll of a quarter-mile across the fields.
