There is easy access to the Capital City of Cardiff – 12 miles to the east. The beaches and walks of the Heritage Coastline lie only 6 miles or so to the south.

The village of Groes-faen sits in rolling countryside and is full of charm and characture, the village was built to provide workers for Groes-faen Farm and the old collery which closed in 1968, many of the mine workers cottages have been restored and still survive today.

Cardiff is also home to the Welsh rugby and football teams and Smokey Cot is just a short taxi ride into the centre of Cardiff. The millennium stadium also holds many other concerts and events throughout the year if sport is not your thing.
