www.thebandbdirectory.co.uk Wolsey Lodges, East Bridgford, Nottinghamshire

A private drive sweeps through the rose garden and lawns to this Grade II listed Georgian house which stands in over six acres of grounds. The gardens and paddocks have glorious aspects over the River Trent and valley, and there is also a tennis court and croquet lawn.

It is a wonderful home full of bonhomie. Depending on time of arrival, guests are offered tea and cakes, or perhaps something stronger, which is much appreciated after a long journey.

Breakfast is taken in the large garden kitchen with adjoining orangery, giving stunning views over the valley. All rooms have been tastefully decorated to meet modern requirements, whilst retaining original Georgian features.
East Bridgford, an attractive old village, provides a superb staging point, only 15 minutes to the attractions of Nottingham: the National Ice Stadium, Rowing and Tennis Centres, horse racing, theatre and restaurants, plus nearby Newark's antique shows and castle.

Being in the heart of ‘Robin Hood' country, many historical venues including Burghley, Belvoir and Chatsworth Houses are also an easy drive.
