The Old Hand & Diamond Inn is situated in beautiful open countryside on the Powys/Shropshire border. It’s just a short drive from Shrewsbury and is located in the pretty village of Coedway.
We have seven en-suite bedrooms, decorated in a traditional country style. All rooms are located on the 1st or 2nd floor and are centrally heated with double glazing. They all have televisions, radio alarm clocks and tea & coffee making facilities. There is a selection of double-bedded rooms and family sized rooms which can cater for up to five persons.
Our inn stands within its large car park. A children’s play area and beer garden are located off this and there is plenty of outside seating on our sunny patio.
All prices are inclusive of full English breakfast. Our bar and restaurant menu is available daily from Monday to Thursday 12.00pm to 2.00pm and 6.00pm to 9.00pm and Friday to Sunday we serve all day. Our 100 seat restaurant enjoys an enviable reputation built up over many years. We offer a varied menu with most of our produce locally sourced from neighbouring farms.
Shrewsbury is a medieval market town renowned for its abundance of black and white Tudor buildings, also the beautiful Quarry Park with the Dingle Garden which was designed and tended by the famous TV gardener, Percy Thrower. Shrewsbury hosts its annual Flower Show here in August.
