Gallan Mor Boutique B&B, Kealties, Durrus, Co Cork, The Sheep's Head Peninsula
Gallan Mor Boutique B&B is Michelin Guide recommended and offers luxurious, child-free guest accommodation within the beautiful Sheep's Head Peninsula in Co Cork. This bed and breakfast has been voted one of the top 100 places to stay on the Wild Atlantic Way and is a wonderful, relaxing retreat for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of modern living.
This boutique guest accommodation has been beautifully furnished with a pleasing blend of antique and contemporary furniture. Having only four bedrooms in its small and intimate set-up, together with a dedicated guest lounge with a wood burning stove, Gallán Mór can promise guests a level of comfort and hospitality that will ensure that their stay is a memorable one.
All of the guest rooms include the following facilities: en suite & underfloor heating, extra deep mattresses, Wi-Fi access, Satellite TV, tea & coffee making facilities with Nespresso machines, complimentary luxury toiletries, hairdryer, comfortable bedroom chairs & blackout blinds.
Gallan Mor's food philosophy is to provide guests with simple, seasonal, local and fresh produce all cooked to order. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the dining area, and if the weather is nice the glass doors can be opened so you can really appreciate the panoramic sea views.
Guests are also welcome to relax in the beautiful garden with its secluded seating areas. This is a lovely place to unwind, gaze at the stars and reflect on the day's activities.
There is no better place to stay for those who enjoy luxury accommodation while exploring the surrounding Cork countryside. A haven for walkers, the Sheep's Head Peninsula offers a 175km circuit trail that takes around 4 days to complete. There are shorter loops (ranging from 2 – 6 hours long) that focus on a particular section of the route and the very tip of the headland is perhaps the best place to aim for. No roads stretch this far, so the only way to unearth its charms during a short break is to travel on foot. For those who are exploring the area on foot, there is plenty of hanging space for wet gear, laundry facilities on request, heated mud room for drying gear.
