Garragh Mhor, Ellenabeich, Easdale, Argyll
Garragh Mhor is a picture postcard cottage offering comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation.
It is located close to the village of Ellenabeich and has superb views across the old quarry pool to the village and seascape beyond. Backed by the cliffs of Dunmore Hill, there are regular visits from eagles, buzzards and even peregrine falcons. The view from the top has to be one of the most spectacular in western Scotland.
Garragh Mhor has 4 comfy en suite bedrooms which all include a TV, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and ironing facilities. Gardens surround the house – to the front around the quarry pool and a walled garden to the rear which you are welcome to use. Various ‘sit-ooties’ have been installed to provide convenient and secluded places to take in the scene.
This is a vegetarian B&B. There are many choices on the menu and non-vegetarians have reviewed the breakfasts very favourably. Trip advisor awarded Garragh Mhor a 5 Star - Certificate of Excellence in 2019.
Garragh Mhor offers a ‘remote-Island-feel’ without the necessity to book a ferry; it is accessed from the mainland via the iconic “Bridge over the Atlantic” and is conveniently located to access both the beautiful Kintyre Peninsula and ferries to the Inner and outer Hebridean islands from Oban.
This is an ideal location from which to explore this part of the stunning West Coast – boasting some the most significant ancient Scottish history; Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a plentiful offering of outdoor activities.
This is a place of tranquillity and beauty – it attracts artists, poets, photographers, walkers, sailors, sea-kayakers, birdwatchers and people who just want to get-away from it all and take in the fresh air and peace.
