The Britannia Inn is the quintessential English Lake District inn. Nestled in the centre of the picturesque village of Elterwater, the Britannia offers a sanctuary away from hectic daily life with real ales and foods to satisfy all tastes.
Comfortable twin and double rooms are available with en suite facilities. Each guest room has tea and coffee facilities, television, telephone and hairdryer. All are serviced daily with fresh towels provided.
Our lunch and evening menus provide an eclectic dining experience from popular favourites to the more unusual. Wherever possible local produce is used to provide freshly prepared meals with daily changing chef's specials.
The Langdale Valley is in the heart of the English Lake District, with excellent walking to be found in all directions. The lofty summits of Scafell, Bowfell and the famous Langdale Pikes beckon the energetic, while the lower fells and valleys offer a more leisurely but equally scenic stroll. There are many famous towns and villages just waiting to be explored such as Ambleside, Grasmere, Hawkshead, Coniston and Keswick, each with their own spectacular views, attractions and shops.
